Palestin's First-Ever Songwriting Camp
Palestine Music Expo's First-Ever Songwriting Camp Produces 14 Demos and Fosters Creative Collaboration Among Palestinian Musicians
Ramallah, Palestine - Palestine Music Expo, supported by Al Qattan Foundation, Ismat Ilam-Deen, and the labels Empire and Levantine Music, has successfully executed its first-ever songwriting camp in Palestine, thanks to the generous support of its partners. Held in Ramallah under the Music Expo umbrella, the event showcased the exceptional talent and growth of the Palestinian music scene.
The nine participants had the opportunity to work one-on-one with three producers; Rami Eadeh (Los Angeles), Clayton William (Los Angeles), and Philip Halloun (Palestine/Denmark). They explored new sounds, learned new techniques, and collaborated with their peers to push their boundaries and experiment with new techniques. The resulting music was a beautiful combination of English Lyrics and Arabic musical elements, showcasing Palestine's cultural and linguistic diversity.
The camp resulted in 14 demos that Palestine Music Expo is planning to pitch globally, showcasing the extraordinary talent of the participants. The organization is committed to making this event a regular occurrence, providing opportunities for talented Palestinian musicians to develop and showcase their skills.
Farah Locanda, a newly renovated boutique hotel in Ramallah, was transformed into a home for the week. It provided the perfect environment for participants to focus on their craft, with three recording stations, a listening room, and accommodations for all. This space allowed participants to feel at home, and Palestine Music Expo is grateful to the Farah Locanda for their generous support.
Through these camps, new talent is discovered, and fresh perspectives are brought to the forefront, leading to the creation of innovative and exciting music, which aligns with Palestine Music Expo's mission to create a sustainable music industry in Palestine and promote Palestinian music and culture globally.
